Acupuncture has been used in China for centuries to deal with allergies, high blood pressure, pregnancy nausea, skin disorders, sexual dysfunction, addiction and more. The world health organization has said that acupuncture is suitable for treating, among other things, tooth pain, earache, sinus inflammation, bronchial asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, sciatica, back pain and osteoarthritis.
Here are 5 reasons why you should use acupuncture
1. You have pain
Whether the pain you feel is because of a recent onset of tennis elbow, an old back injury, migraine or an internal organ problem, acupuncture can help. Studies show that acupuncture may block the nerves that send pain signals to the spinal cord.
Because acupuncture has no side effects, it is definitely an option, especially if you take painkillers frequently. And have no fear, acupuncture can be used securely in combination with drugs and other forms of physical therapies.
2. You’re stressed
Acupuncture facilitates the release of endorphins that help to calm the brain and relieve the symptoms of stress. When you are anxious, the whole system is overstressed and becomes destabilized. This brings in variety secondary problems, such as immunodeficiency, anxiety, depression, sleeplessness, ulcers, and more. After receiving acupuncture for stress, you will find yourself much calmer and able to handle the challenges that come in your daily life.
3. You get flu or cold at least once a year
Blood vessels dilate and an immune reaction is activated when an acupuncture needle (painless, disposable) is first introduced into the body. Specialized acupuncture points are places on our bodies that have been shown to have a higher electrical conductivity along with a large concentration of nerves and blood vessels. Stimulating these accupoints causes chemicals to release the fuel that activate your body’s natural defense mechanisms. This makes acupuncture a traditional and natural option to a flu shot.
4. You are tired all the time
Do you need stimulants to get going in the morning or late afternoon? You may need a vacation, or else you might need to take care of your “root” and “branch”. Acupuncturists have a distinctive way to determine the patient’s imbalance by reading their “branch” (constellation associated with signs and symptoms) and “root” (real cause of the problem).
Treatments are tailored to each individual’s specific problems and carefully manipulate the body’s energy to get the patient back to balance. This leaves the patient with more power, deeper sleep and increased functional capacity.
5. The menstrual cycle is causing you grief
In many developed countries, women do not realize that having and losing periods is a natural phenomenon. The unpleasant symptoms that come with menstruation are most natural. If you’re experiencing painful periods, PMS, menopause, inability to conceive, endometriosis or other unpleasant symptoms then there is a discrepancy or imbalance in your system. Acupuncturists have been handling women’s issues for several hundred years with medical literature comprising 200 generations of doctors and patients. Each woman is treated individually by assessing her medical history, symptoms, signs, pulse reading, lifestyle and diet.
Acupuncture has been around since the 3rd century BC and its practice is undoubtedly much older than that. Both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine has helped millions. These alternative medicine systems are rapidly establishing themselves as some of the most natural, alternative and effective treatments in the West.

Acupuncture is recommended for many things. Personally the doctor has recommended it for fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic pain and stress. The problem is it really isnβt that affordable to people to see a acupuncture here it was going to cost me $350 upfront. It seems that they have to have you set up for a certain amount of weeks upfront. It would help if more insurance would cover it. It costs less than all the tests and therapy they have you go though.
