All vaginas have a vaginal flora, a balanced ecosystem, comparable to the oral and intestinal flora. It is a set of bacteria and fungi, present in the vagina, that protects the mucous membranes and keeps the vagina healthy.
When this ecosystem is unbalanced, all kinds of vaginal problems can develop, such as itching, an unpleasant smell, a burning sensation….
The main causes of disturbance of the vaginal flora are:
Horμonal changes, such as at the time of menopause;
The lack of hygiene;
Diseases;
Certain medications or procedures;
Childbirth.

White Losses And Vaginal Secretions
White discharge or vaginal secretions are cloudy or clear discharge, which keeps the vagina hydrated and protects it from pathogens. They are therefore a sign of good vaginal health.
As long as the secretions are clear and almost colourless (like raw egg white), you don’t have to worry. But sometimes they become abnormally abundant or colorful (yellowish white, brown or even green) and the vagina is irritated or itchy. Sometimes the smell is not the most pleasant. Good Intimate Care For A Healthy Vagina
To keep your vagina healthy, apply the tips below for good intimate hygiene.
- Wash your vagina once a day, with warm water only! Your vagina has a self-cleaning mechanism that makes soap use unnecessary. Worse still: soap disrupts the vagina’s acidity level, which unbalances its flora.
- Never use vaginal deodorants! Many women are ashamed of the smell of their vaginas. It’s true that it doesn’t smell like a rose down there, but the discreet smell of a healthy vagina doesn’t make you blush. In fact, if you use a vaginal deodorant, your vagina may even start to smell very unpleasant because its natural balance has been disrupted by the product. It is also better to avoid perfumed sanitary napkins and toilet paper.

- When you spy on your sex, you suffer from skin irritations and itching. Use a soothing cream or spray to avoid this.
- Change your towels and panty liners several times a day. Many women find this obvious with regard to towels, and less so with panty liners. Neither is designed for all-day use. They prevent the skin from breathing and can irritate if you wear them for too long. Replace your towel or panty liners every 3 to 4 hours.
