In comparison to the other techniques, this method is relatively fast, and it does not leave a prominent scar. As a matter of fact, a lot of women use this technique to hide or reduce the scars that are already present around their nipple region.
This technique stimulates the texture, shape, and color of the areola, so patients who do not wish to get a surgical areola reconstruction after their breast reconstruction can use this method to change the appearance of their nipple. But, this method creates an optical illusion around the nipple, so it is not a permanent fix.
