Looking for ways to keep the family active this year? Coming up with an activity everyone can enjoy isn’t always easy. However, there’s plenty of ways you can keep the family fit and healthy in 2018 and here you’ll discover some of the most fun, alternative ideas to give you a little inspiration.
Have a nerf gun fight!
Ok, so this one might not appeal to everyone, but nerf guns can be fun and safe when used properly. If you really don’t like the idea of using nerf guns however, you could substitute them for laser guns.
You can either play individually, or split the family into two teams. The goal is to shoot the opposition, earning points each time you do. At the end, the person or team with the most points wins. It’s surprising how many calories you can burn with this fun game. The kids will love it and it’s a rare opportunity for the adults to let their inner kid out too!
Skating
Another activity which is going to let you release your inner child, is skating. You don’t need a lot of equipment to take it up, just decent skateboard decks and perhaps some safety equipment such as knee pads, too!
Skating requires a lot of balance and while it may not seem like a workout, you’ll certainly feel like it is afterwards. You don’t have to skateboard, you can use roller skates if you’d prefer. Whichever one you choose, skating is definitely one activity the whole family will enjoy.
Get dancing
While getting outdoors is important, there are some great indoor activities you can use to keep fit too. By far one of the most fun is dancing. Turn up the music and dance with your family. You could even turn it into a competition if you want to make it even more fun. Dancing is a great way to not only get in shape, but reduce stress, bond as a family and instantly boost the mood.
These are just three alternative and fun ways to keep the family active and healthy in 2018. Even just doing something different once a week can make a huge difference. So, if you’re looking for activities the whole family can enjoy, why not try out skating, nerf gun fights or dancing?
