Sometimes we believe that in order to feel better, we need to change our life profoundly. Although it may sometimes be necessary, it isn’t normally good to go that route and to that extent. Modifying certain habits in our life will have a much better result than trying to become something we are (probably) not. Here are a few elements that you should look into, if you feel it is time for a change.
Reduce your alcohol Intake
Feeling stressed and you grab a beer? Celebration comes along with a few glasses of wine? It’s all good, as long as you keep it in check. But if these are habits you have built over the years, there is a great chance you would benefit from reducing the amount of alcohol you consume in a week. There are better ways to reduce your stress. Nowadays, many cannabis-based products containing CBD, will help you reduce anxiety. These products are non-psychoactive, so they are not dangerous to your health in any way. In fact, many of them are prescribed by doctors.
Get out of Town
That paragraph is for you, city boys and girls. Yes, you benefit from more services, and you have access to more cultural events and venues (although that is not quite true with the pandemic going on at this moment), but you also suffer from much more stress than those living in the country side. Chances are you don’t even know what it means to enjoy a day, without being connected to the internet and to the virtual world, in one way or another. It is time to hit the pause button and head out into the wild. You’ll see; it will become a new habit that you won’t want to break.
Stop being so hard on Yourself (at least for a day)
Society is asking more of us, all the time. Family and friends tend to do so as well. The social media are placing us under the spotlight, and we feel like we have to perform, even when we are supposed to be having a good time on an outing (yes, all those Facebook and Instagram pictures you take along the way…). Put a stop to this, for at least 24 hours. Go into hiding and binge on Netflix and ice cream. If you are in a couple, stay in bed the whole day! Be good to yourself. Otherwise, no one will do it for you.
